Denver Council set to approve $265,000 to settle police lawsuits
Denver City Council will consider next week a $185,000 payment to settle a lawsuit filed after a police officer shoved a man onto steps outside a LoDo bar.
The payment, if approved Monday, will be made to Brandon Schreiber, who filed the lawsuit after he was shoved by Officer Choice Johnson while attending his brother’s bachelor party in July 2014. Schreiber is represented by the Rathod Mohamedbhai Law Firm.
“Mr. Schreiber is looking forward to the next steps in his life,” said attorney Siddhartha Rathod. “He is proud to have stood up and spoken out against police violence and brutality.”
