About This Case:
On July 16, 2026, Emma Landis and Mandi Dillon participated in a protest outside of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) detention center in Aurora, Colorado, an immigration detention center operated by the GEO Group Inc. Ms. Landis and Ms. Dillon were exercising their First Amendment constitutional rights and standing up for members of our community who have been terrorized by ICE’s enforcement operations throughout the country.
When Ms. Landis and Ms. Dillon were walking away from the protest, GEO Group employee Brandon Booth intentionally fired a gun at the two women, shooting Ms. Landis in the foot. Mr. Booth was subsequently arrested and criminally charged with assault in the first degree and attempted assault in the second degree. RATHOD | MOHAMEDBHAI LLC represents Ms. Landis and Ms. Dillon in connection with civil claims arising from the shooting and the injuries they sustained.
