Former Littleton Bus Aide Seen Punching Nonverbal Student On Video Pleads Guilty
A former Littleton bus aide who was captured on video punching a nonverbal student strapped into a harness pleaded guilty Monday to several felony charges.
Kiarra Jones, 30, pleaded to 10 counts of third-degree assault against an at-risk person, all felonies, and two counts of child abuse, both misdemeanors, according to documents filed in the 18th Judicial District Court.
Jones was arrested in April 2024 after a 10-year-old boy’s parents reported bruises on his foot and a police officer reviewed footage from an on-bus camera showing Jones assaulting children on three separate bus rides to and from The Joshua School in Englewood, a school for kids ages 3 through 21 with developmental disabilities.
She is set to be sentenced March 18. Each felony count carries a maximum of 18 months in prison and a fine up to $100,000, court documents show. Each child abuse count carries a penalty of up to 364 days in jail and a maximum $1,000 fine.
