PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Neil is an attorney at Rathod | Mohamedbhai LLC whose practice focuses on litigating individual and class action civil rights and employment claims. Neil has represented individuals who have endured excessive and deadly force, cruel and unusual prison conditions, and employment discrimination.
Neil began his legal career as an associate at one of the nation’s most prominent political law firms. At that firm, Neil worked alongside national leaders–including former presidential appointees and agency heads–on issues of national and local importance. Neil codrafted briefs that successfully challenged a spectrum of government actions, from marquee presidential policies to local government regulations.
Neil then clerked for the Hon. Robert E. Bacharach, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. As a federal appellate clerk, Neil provided legal counsel to his judge on issues involving civil rights, employment law, and complex procedure.
Neil’s prior experience advising a federal appellate judge and litigating against the federal government taught him how to speak truth to power. He now leverages that experience to represent his clients as they stand up to those same bodies of power.
EDUCATION
Neil earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Colorado, where he graduated in the top 5 of his class and earned awards including: the American Bar Association’s Award for Best Brief (Pacific); Excellence in Clinic Award; Most Public Service Hours (670); Order of the Coif; Order of the Barristers; 7 Endowed Scholarships; and was Champion of the Rothgerber Moot Court Competition.
Prior to law school, Neil earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He then worked as an engineer in the Bay Area.
