Dylan Nelson is a paralegal with Rathod Mohamedbhai LLC. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a minor in Legal Studies from Metropolitan State University of Denver. While in college, Dylan juggled academics with playing for the NCAA Division 2 Men’s Baseball team at MSU Denver for five years. During this time, Dylan was awarded 1st Team All-Academic in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference all five years of his tenure. He was also a member of the National Society of Leadership at MSU Denver where he worked to tutor and provide undergraduate students with helpful tools to guide them toward success.
Dylan has developed a strong sense of community during his time at MSU Denver. During his fourth year of school, Dylan conducted a project on behalf of the Criminal Justice Department at MSU Denver and presented it to the National Criminal Justice Honor Society and Colorado’s top criminal justice professionals. Using crime mapping analysis and a Geographical Information System, he was able to correlate drug possession arrests and police patrol routes to conclude police departments have an alarmingly disproportionate presence in neighborhoods dominated by people of color.
Dylan’s passion for civil rights has only grown since then. He is dedicated to ensuring social justice issues are effectively addressed. Dylan will continue to work for Rathod Mohamedbhai LLC until his goal of becoming a civil rights attorney is met.
