PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Ciara is an attorney at Rathod | Mohamedbhai LLC focusing her practice on civil rights, employment discrimination, and criminal defense. She advocates to empower individuals challenging governmental and institutional abuses of power.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Ciara graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in May 2020. While in law school, she was a Managing Editor of the Sports & Entertainment Law Journal and on the executive board for the American Civil Liberties Union, First Generation Law Student Association, and Women’s Legal Coalition. Ciara also participated in the University of Denver’s prestigious Civil Rights Clinic for two years where she represented clients in civil rights and prisoner rights cases. Ciara successfully negotiated a substantial settlement on behalf of a juvenile client against a Colorado police department. She then went on to work on the Clinic’s most complex case, challenging the conditions of solitary confinement on behalf of a human imprisoned in the United States Penitentiary – Administrative Maximum (ADX). Ciara graduated with the Public Good Distinction capstone and was awarded the Student Attorney of the Year Award for her advocacy for her clients in the Civil Rights Clinic.
Prior to law school, Ciara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee. While earning her B.A., Ciara also worked closely with her community as a volunteer in non-profit organizations. Before joining Rathod | Mohamedbhai LLC, Ciara practiced general litigation in a Colorado law firm working with people and families to overcome the challenges in their lives and in the judicial system.
